SnagBite Privacy Policy
Last Updated: July 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how SnagBite ("SnagBite," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when you access or use the SnagBite mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Platform").
SnagBite is a marketplace that connects buyers with participating local stores for the purchase and in-person pickup of items. This Privacy Policy applies to buyers, store owners, store associates, visitors, and other individuals who interact with the Platform.
By using the Platform, you acknowledge that your personal information will be handled as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you should not use the Platform.
This Privacy Policy is intended for users in the United States.
1. Personal Information We Collect
We collect personal information depending on how you use the Platform, the features you access, the information you provide, and the permissions you grant.
Information You Provide
We may collect the following information directly from you:
- Account information. When you create or use an account, we may collect your name, display name, email address, profile information, login information, and account preferences.
- Store information. If you register or manage a store, we may collect store name, store address, phone number, business hours, pickup information, business details, team member information, role information, and other information needed to operate a store account.
- Listing and item information. Stores may provide item descriptions, pricing, photos, availability, pickup information, and other listing content.
- Order and transaction information. We collect information about orders, pickups, cancellations, shortages, refunds, credits, fees, taxes, disputes, support requests, and related transaction activity.
- Support information. If you contact support, we may collect your message, support category, related order information, attachments, photos, device information, contact information, and other information you choose to provide.
- Communications. We may collect information when you communicate with us, respond to messages, participate in surveys, provide feedback, request assistance, or otherwise interact with SnagBite.
- Business and verification information. For stores, store owners, and store associates, we may collect business contact details, identity verification information, tax-related information, payout-related information, ownership or authorization information, and documentation needed to verify store eligibility, comply with law, prevent fraud, or support payments and payouts.
Information Collected Automatically
When you use the Platform, we may automatically collect information such as:
- Device and app information. This may include device type, operating system, app version, browser type, mobile device identifiers, advertising identifiers where permitted, language settings, time zone, and similar technical information.
- Usage information. This may include pages or screens viewed, features used, buttons tapped, searches, store views, listings viewed, order activity, pickup activity, session activity, referring pages, and interactions with Platform content.
- Log and diagnostic information. This may include IP address, access times, crash reports, performance data, error logs, security logs, and troubleshooting information.
- Location information. With your permission, we may collect precise location information from your device to show nearby stores, calculate distances, support pickup-related features, and determine eligibility for location-based offers. We may also infer approximate location from IP address or other technical signals.
- Push notification information. If you enable push notifications, we may collect and use push tokens or similar identifiers to send account, order, pickup, support, security, promotional, or Platform-related notifications.
- Cookies and similar technologies. We may use cookies, pixels, SDKs, local storage, analytics tools, and similar technologies to operate the Platform, remember preferences, maintain security, understand usage, prevent fraud, improve performance, and support marketing or promotional activities where permitted.
Information From Third Parties
We may receive personal information from third parties, including:
- Sign-in providers. If you sign in using a third-party account, such as Apple, Google, Facebook, or another supported provider, we may receive information authorized by you or provided by that service, such as name, email address, profile photo, account identifier, or authentication information.
- Payment processors. We receive payment and payout-related information from our third-party payment processor, such as customer identifiers, connected account identifiers, payment status, payout status, transaction metadata, refund status, chargeback information, and risk signals. We do not receive or store full card numbers or full bank account credentials.
- Location, mapping, and place providers. We may receive location, mapping, store address, place identification, distance, or address-validation information from third-party providers.
- Fraud, safety, and security providers. We may receive information used to detect fraud, abuse, suspicious activity, location spoofing, VPN or proxy use, payment risk, account risk, or other Platform integrity concerns.
- App stores and platform providers. We may receive information from app stores, operating systems, or platform providers related to downloads, app performance, subscriptions if applicable, crashes, reviews, or user interactions with app-store features.
2. Sensitive Personal Information
SnagBite does not intentionally require users to provide sensitive personal information, such as Social Security numbers, precise financial account credentials, government identification numbers, biometric information, medical records, or health diagnoses, except where required for store verification, payment processing, tax compliance, fraud prevention, legal obligations, or similar legitimate business purposes.
Some information we collect may be considered sensitive under certain U.S. state privacy laws, such as precise geolocation, account login credentials, payment-related information handled by our payment processor, or information you voluntarily provide in a support request.
Please do not submit sensitive personal information unless necessary for the specific purpose for which you are providing it. If you voluntarily provide sensitive information, such as allergy, dietary, religious, medical, or safety-related information in a support request, we may process it to respond to your request, protect users, comply with law, or establish, exercise, or defend legal rights.
SnagBite does not collect biometric information for identification purposes.
3. How We Use Personal Information
We use personal information for the following purposes:
- To provide the Platform. We use information to create and manage accounts, authenticate users, operate store accounts, display stores and listings, process orders, support pickups, provide credits, handle refunds, and manage Platform functionality.
- To process payments and payouts. We use information to support payment authorization, payment capture, refunds, credits, taxes, fees, commissions, payouts, chargebacks, disputes, adjustments, and payment processor requirements.
- To communicate with you. We use information to send verification codes, order updates, pickup information, store notifications, refund notices, support responses, account messages, security notices, legal notices, and other service-related communications.
- To provide support. We use information to investigate and respond to support requests, resolve order issues, review attachments, communicate with buyers and stores, and improve support operations.
- To personalize and improve the Platform. We may use information to show nearby stores, improve search results, recommend relevant listings, remember preferences, test features, analyze usage, conduct research, troubleshoot errors, improve reliability, and develop new features.
- To support store operations. We may use information to verify stores, manage store teams, support listings, communicate order activity, process payouts, review store performance, address disputes, and enforce store obligations.
- To support marketplace integrity. We use information to detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, duplicate accounts, promotion abuse, payment risk, chargebacks, policy violations, scraping, unauthorized access, security threats, suspicious activity, and unsafe or unlawful conduct.
- To support automated and AI-assisted features. We may use automated tools to assist with image optimization, item identification, listing support, fraud detection, abuse prevention, ranking, recommendations, store quality indicators, moderation, support workflows, and Platform security.
- To send marketing and promotional communications. Where permitted, we may use information to send promotional messages, offers, credits, referral information, store promotions, sponsored content, surveys, or other marketing communications. You may opt out of marketing emails as described below, but you may still receive transactional or service-related messages.
- To comply with law and protect rights. We use information to comply with tax, accounting, legal, regulatory, law enforcement, payment processor, security, and recordkeeping obligations, and to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
4. Payments and Financial Information
Payments and payouts are handled by a third-party payment processor. When you add a payment method, pay for an order, or receive store payouts, your card, bank, and related financial information may be collected and processed directly by the payment processor, not by SnagBite.
SnagBite may store payment-related metadata, such as payment processor customer IDs, connected account IDs, order totals, tax amounts, refund records, credit records, payout status, chargeback status, fee information, and transaction history. SnagBite does not store full credit card numbers or full bank account credentials.
Your use of payment and payout features is also subject to the payment processor's terms and privacy policy.
5. Photos, Listings, and Automated Processing
Stores may upload item photos, descriptions, pricing, and other listing content. These materials may be stored, displayed, resized, reformatted, analyzed, or otherwise processed to operate the Platform.
SnagBite may use automated tools, including AI or machine-learning services, to assist with product identification, image optimization, listing creation, fraud detection, safety review, moderation, and Platform improvement.
Automated tools may be inaccurate or incomplete. Stores remain responsible for reviewing and confirming all listing information, including item descriptions, ingredients, allergens, pricing, condition, availability, legal compliance, and safety.
Support attachments, including photos submitted by buyers or stores, may be shared with our customer-support providers and used to investigate and resolve support requests.
6. How We Disclose Personal Information
We may disclose personal information as described below.
Between Buyers and Stores
We may share information between buyers and stores as needed to process orders, support pickup, resolve issues, confirm availability, address refunds or shortages, investigate disputes, and operate the marketplace. For example, a store may receive order details needed to prepare or provide the order, and a buyer may receive store information needed for pickup.
We may limit the information shared between buyers and stores where appropriate. For example, stores may receive refund status or operational information without receiving all buyer refund details.
Service Providers and Vendors
We may disclose personal information to service providers and vendors who help us operate the Platform, including providers of:
- payment processing and payouts;
- cloud hosting, database, storage, and infrastructure;
- analytics, crash reporting, and performance monitoring;
- transactional email and messaging;
- push notifications;
- customer support and helpdesk tools;
- identity, store, tax, or payment verification;
- mapping, geolocation, address validation, and place data;
- fraud prevention, security, abuse detection, and risk analysis;
- AI, image processing, automation, and product identification;
- marketing, communications, and promotional tools;
- legal, accounting, tax, compliance, and professional services.
These providers may access personal information only as needed to provide services to us, subject to applicable contractual, legal, and confidentiality obligations.
Payment Processors, Banks, and Card Networks
We may disclose information to payment processors, banks, card networks, payout providers, risk partners, and related financial service providers to process payments, payouts, refunds, chargebacks, disputes, fraud checks, tax reporting, compliance reviews, and other payment-related activities.
Legal, Safety, and Compliance
We may access, preserve, or disclose information if we reasonably believe it is necessary to:
- comply with law, regulation, subpoena, court order, warrant, legal process, or government request;
- cooperate with law enforcement, regulators, public authorities, payment processors, card networks, or app stores;
- enforce our Terms, policies, or agreements;
- detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, abuse, technical, legal, safety, or integrity issues;
- protect the rights, property, safety, or security of SnagBite, users, stores, employees, contractors, service providers, or the public;
- respond to recalls, safety alerts, disputes, chargebacks, or consumer protection concerns.
Business Transfers
We may disclose or transfer personal information in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, investment, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, corporate transaction, or due diligence process. If personal information is transferred, it will remain subject to this Privacy Policy or a policy with materially similar protections, unless you are notified otherwise.
With Your Consent or Direction
We may disclose information when you direct us to do so, authorize a third-party integration, participate in a promotion, submit public content, or otherwise consent to disclosure.
7. Sale, Sharing, and Targeted Advertising
SnagBite does not sell personal information for money.
Some U.S. state privacy laws define "sale," "sharing," or "targeted advertising" broadly. If SnagBite uses advertising, analytics, or marketing technologies that are considered a "sale," "sharing," or "targeted advertising" under applicable law, eligible users may have the right to opt out.
At this time, SnagBite is primarily a marketplace and does not intend to sell personal information to data brokers. If we engage in targeted advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising, we will provide any required notices and opt-out mechanisms.
We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of individuals under 18.
8. Cookies, SDKs, and Tracking Technologies
We and our service providers may use cookies, software development kits, pixels, local storage, device identifiers, analytics tools, and similar technologies to:
- keep you signed in;
- remember preferences;
- operate app and website features;
- measure performance;
- detect crashes and errors;
- protect against fraud and abuse;
- understand how users interact with the Platform;
- improve features and user experience;
- support marketing, promotions, or attribution where permitted.
You may be able to control some tracking technologies through your browser settings, device settings, app settings, or operating system privacy controls. Disabling certain technologies may affect Platform functionality.
Some browsers offer "Do Not Track" signals. Because there is no uniform industry standard for responding to these signals, we may not respond to them. Where required by applicable law, we will honor recognized opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, if applicable to the Platform and technically feasible.
9. Device Permissions and Your Choices
The Platform may request access to certain device features. You can manage permissions through your device settings.
- Location. You can allow or deny access to precise location. If you disable location, some features may not work properly, including nearby store results, distance calculations, pickup-related features, or location-based promotions.
- Camera and photos. Store users may need camera or photo access to upload listing images. Buyers or stores may use camera or photo access to attach images to support requests. If you disable access, those features may be limited.
- Push notifications. You can enable or disable push notifications through your device settings. If disabled, you may still receive emails or in-app messages for important account, order, or legal notices.
- Email. You may opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link or instructions in the message. You cannot opt out of transactional, security, legal, or service-related communications that are necessary to provide the Platform.
10. Promotional Credits and Financial Incentives
SnagBite may offer promotional credits, referral rewards, discounts, coupons, store promotions, or similar benefits. These programs may require us to collect or use information such as your name, email address, account status, order history, location eligibility, referral activity, promotion usage, and fraud-prevention signals.
We use this information to determine eligibility, administer the program, prevent abuse, measure effectiveness, and provide the benefit. The value of any promotional benefit is reasonably related to the value of operating the program, encouraging marketplace participation, and maintaining user relationships.
Participation in promotional programs is optional. You may opt out of promotional communications, but doing so may limit your ability to receive or use certain offers.
11. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Platform, maintain accounts, process orders, support stores, administer credits and payouts, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations, enforce agreements, and support legitimate business purposes.
Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the reason it was collected. For example:
- account information is generally retained while your account is active;
- transaction, order, tax, refund, payout, ledger, and accounting records may be retained after account deletion as required or permitted by law;
- support records may be retained to resolve issues, improve support, and maintain records of disputes;
- security, fraud, and abuse-prevention records may be retained to protect the Platform;
- short-lived verification codes and temporary security data are retained only for limited periods;
- deletion audit records may be retained to document account deletion and compliance activity.
We may also retain de-identified, aggregated, or anonymized information that can no longer reasonably identify you.
12. Account Deletion and Privacy Requests
You may be able to delete your account through the Platform. Account deletion is subject to limitations, including open orders, unresolved disputes, pending payments, payout obligations, active store roles, tax records, legal obligations, fraud prevention, security needs, or other legitimate business requirements.
Deleting your account may remove or deactivate your profile and account information, but it will not necessarily delete records we are required or permitted to retain, such as transaction records, tax records, payout records, refund records, dispute records, fraud-prevention records, legal records, or backup records.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information. You may also have the right to opt out of certain processing, including sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling, where applicable.
To submit a privacy request, contact us using the information in the "Contact Us" section below. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. We may deny or limit requests where permitted by law, including where information is needed to complete a transaction, detect fraud, protect security, comply with law, retain business records, resolve disputes, or exercise legal rights.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
13. U.S. State Privacy Rights
Residents of certain U.S. states may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws. Depending on your state and subject to legal limitations, these rights may include:
- the right to know or confirm whether we process your personal information;
- the right to access personal information we maintain about you;
- the right to correct inaccurate personal information;
- the right to delete personal information;
- the right to obtain a portable copy of personal information;
- the right to opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling;
- the right to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, where applicable;
- the right to appeal a denied privacy request, where required by law;
- the right not to be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights.
To exercise these rights, contact us at the email listed below. If your state provides a right to appeal and we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision or contacting us with the subject line "Privacy Appeal."
If you use an authorized agent to submit a request, we may require proof that the agent is authorized to act on your behalf and may require you to verify your identity directly with us.
14. Security
We use reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. These may include encryption in transit, access controls, authentication controls, monitoring, logging, security reviews, hashed verification codes, and use of established service providers.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee that personal information will always remain secure, and you use the Platform at your own risk.
If we become aware of a security incident involving personal information, we will provide notice as required by applicable law.
15. Children's Privacy
The Platform is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect, sell, or share personal information from children under 18.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 18 without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. If you believe a child has provided personal information to SnagBite, contact us using the information below.
16. Third-Party Services and Links
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, services, payment processors, sign-in providers, app stores, mapping providers, support tools, or other services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party services that we do not control.
Third parties may collect and use information under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you use.
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we update it, we will change the "Last Updated" date above. If we make material changes, we may provide additional notice through the Platform, by email, or by other legally required means.
Your continued use of the Platform after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means you acknowledge the updated policy.
