About SnagBite

What is SnagBite?

SnagBite is a marketplace app for discounted food and everyday items from local stores — often surplus, near-expiration, clearance, or made-to-order deals. You order and pay in the app, then pick your order up in person at the store during a pickup window. SnagBite connects you with independent stores; the store prepares and fulfills your order.

How does it work?

Browse deals near you, add items to your cart, and place your order. The store prepares your order, and you receive a 4-digit pickup code once it's marked Ready. Show that code at the store to collect your order.

What devices does SnagBite support?

SnagBite is available on iOS and Android. Placing orders is done in the mobile app.

Is my payment information safe?

Yes. Payments are processed securely.

How old do I need to be to use SnagBite?

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to use SnagBite.

How do I contact support?

In the app, go to Menu → Support. Choose a category, describe your issue (you can attach photos), and we'll follow up with you by email.

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account in the app (Profile → Delete Account) or at snagbite.com/delete-account. You'll need to have no active orders and no outstanding store obligations first. Deletion is permanent and removes your data, including any unspent SnagBite Credit.

For Buyers

How do I sign up?

Choose Continue with Email (we send a 6-digit code — no password), Google, or Facebook. First-time email users add a first name. (Apple sign-in is coming soon.)

My email code didn't arrive or expired.

Codes are valid for 5 minutes — tap Resend to get a new one. You can request up to 5 codes per hour.

How do I find deals near me?

Your home feed shows deals within your chosen distance — the default is 10 miles, adjustable from 3 to 50 miles. Tap the location chip to change it. You can also search by text, voice, or by scanning a barcode.

What do the prices mean?

The large price is the discounted price you pay. The crossed-out price is the store's regular price, and the green badge shows the percentage off.

Are there any fees?

A $0.99 small-order fee applies if your subtotal is under $6.99 — add a little more to waive it. Applicable sales tax is added at checkout. There's no other buyer service fee.

Why can't I check out?

Checkout requires a few things: your device location must be on; the store must be within 50 miles (15+ miles asks you to confirm you'll travel to pick up); any unavailable items must be removed; and tax must be calculable for the store. Note that checkout is available in the mobile app only.

What is SnagBite Credit and how do I use it?

SnagBite Credit is account credit you can apply at checkout by ticking "Use SnagBite Credit." It reduces your card charge; a minimum of $0.50 always goes to your card. Credit has no cash value, isn't transferable, and can expire.

Where's my pickup code?

Your 4-digit pickup code appears on the order once it's marked Ready (and payment is confirmed). Show it to the store to collect your order.

How do I pick up my order?

Tap Navigate to Store, go to the store's pickup location, and tell staff "SnagBite order pickup for [your name]," then give your pickup code.

The store ran out of my item — what happens?

The store offers you options and you choose one in the app: pick up what's available and get refunded the rest, split your pickup into two, reschedule (within 48 hours), or cancel for a full refund. Please respond within 60 minutes so your order isn't cancelled automatically.

Will I see my refund amount, and how long does it take?

Yes — you'll see the exact refund amount and a bank reference number. Refunds go to your original payment method and can take up to 5–10 business days to appear. If your card was only on hold (not yet charged), the hold simply drops off, usually within 1–7 business days.

Can I cancel my order?

Buyers can't directly cancel a placed order.

I missed my pickup window.

You can request more time (once).

How do I manage notifications?

In Settings, you can toggle Order updates and Promos & discounts.

For Sellers & Stores

How do I open a store on SnagBite?

Tap Register a store, find your business (or enter it manually), confirm your address, hours, and pickup location, submit, then set up payouts with Stripe.

My business is already on SnagBite.

If you own it, you'll be taken straight to it. If someone else registered it, you can request access or claim ownership.

Do I need a business account?

Yes — SnagBite supports business (company) accounts. A personal/individual account will be restricted until it's switched to a company account during payout setup.

How do I add staff to my store?

As the owner, invite them by email from Store Associates; they enter a 5-digit code (valid 48 hours). A store can have up to 6 members. Associates can create listings, manage orders, and complete sales, but can't change store details, manage the team, or access banking.

How do I create a listing?

From your store home, tap Add, then fill in the product details, quantity (or choose "Unlimited / Made-to-order"), deal schedule and prep time, and pricing.

How does pricing work?

You set a Regular Price (used only to calculate the discount — it's never the sale price) and either a Sale Price or a discount rate. Minimums are: Regular Price $3.10, Sale Price $3.00, discount 3%. The Regular Price is fixed once you publish; to change it, end the listing and create a new one.

What is Smart Pricing?

Smart Pricing starts your item at a higher price for eager early buyers and automatically steps it down to your final discounted price as the deal window runs out, so the item sells before it expires. You authorize it to adjust within your approved range — between your regular price and your final discounted price.

How long can a deal run?

Up to 3 days. You can relist for another 3 days as long as you still have stock.

What is SnagBite's commission?

SnagBite commission displayed in the active listing.

How and when do I get paid?

You earn on orders that are completed (picked up, or a no-show you close). Payouts run weekly — the payout runs on Wednesday (Central Time) so funds reach your bank by Friday — once your available balance reaches $50 (or automatically after four weeks). You can also use Pay Out Now (owner only, $1 minimum; the fee is $1 plus 1.5% of the amount over $80). Payouts require completed Stripe onboarding.

Why is some of my balance "settling"?

Funds sit in a short pending window until the customer's payment settles with the payment processing company, then they become available to pay out.

Do I get paid for cancelled orders?

No — you're paid only for completed orders. Cancelled orders don't generate a payout.

How do I fulfill an order?

Tap Begin Preparation, check off each item, then Mark Order Ready. When the customer arrives, enter their 4-digit pickup code to complete the order.

What if I can't fulfill everything?

Report an inventory shortage and offer the customer options (reduce the order with a refund, split the pickup, reschedule, or full refund). The customer picks one.

Can I see how much a customer was refunded?

No — refund amounts are shown only to the customer; you'll see that a refund was issued. SnagBite funds the refund. You're only responsible for the payment processor's non-refundable fee on cancellations, which is deducted from your next payout.

The customer didn't show up.

After the pickup window, you can close the order (you're still paid) or grant more time. Granting an extension is better for your store ranking.

Why isn't my store rating showing to buyers yet?

Ratings become public after 30 days and at least 15 resolved orders. Cancellations affect your rating the most, so aim to avoid them.

Why are my new listings paused?

If you have an outstanding balance from cancellation fees that has remained for a while, new listings pause until your next sale clears that balance through the normal payout cycle.
